When I saw that Chained Bride is going to present their album Violet in Latvijas 1. rokkafejnīca last thursday I instantly decided that I should go and take my camera with me. Well actually I haven't been to a concert to just hear the music and not shoot photos for a very very long time. The last time like that I can remember was the Last Rammstein concert in 2012. Before that it was probably the time when I hadn't started shooting concerts at all. The time when Rock N' RIga still existed, Latvijas 1. Rokkafejnīca was where it belonged and didn't have a clue how to get even a half decent photo of well... anything.
But now everything is a bit different. And the the decision to present their album in Latvijas 1. Rokkafejnīca was a great choice I think. The distance they have gone in terms of lighting and the overall look and quality of the venue is amazing. I remember some of my first concerts there.. just one or two spotlights and a couple backligts which were either red or green. But now it's really great. Makes shooting those concerts really fun.
And as for the concert I really enjoyed it. Both Chained Bride and Art Of Keeping Secrets were great. Didn't see much of AOKS though because reasons. It's one of those times when you decide.... well they're always starting an hour late or even more so it will be ok if I be there half an hour later. And sure when I get there they have like three or four songs left. Bummer! But Chained Bride.. even better and heavier that on the record. Just go and listen to some of it here. Oh yes and if you're from Rīga definately go see them the next time you have a chance. It might really be worth it.
